NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest health organisation in the UK. An exciting opportunity has now arisen to appoint an innovative individual who can provide inspirational leadership for the operational management of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Radiotherapy Services.
The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre opened in 2007 and has the largest non –surgical cancer centre within Scotland providing radiotherapy services to a population of 2.6 million. As an internationally renowned teaching centre, the Beatson incorporates the academic units of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Translational Research and Palliative Care. A West of Scotland Satellite Radiotherapy Centre was opened in late 2015 enabling more patients in the West of Scotland to be treated closer to home.
As an internationally renowned teaching centre, the Beatson is staffed by some of the most skilled and dedicated healthcare professionals in the country with waiting times for radical treatment amongst the lowest in the UK.
Operating as part of the senior management team you will provide professional leadership to all Therapy Radiographers and associated staff and will inspire and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement which values continuing professional development and strives for excellence in all aspects of the delivery of patient orientated radiotherapy services.
Reporting to and working closely with the General Manager, Specialist Oncology and Clinical Haematology Services you will have a key role in designing and implementing strategic Radiotherapy service developments across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
The successful candidate will have significant clinical experience within Therapy Radiography with a relevant first degree and post graduate Masters degree, or equivalent experience and hold current HCPC registration . You will have significant senior management experience in the role of Superintendent or Advance Practitioner in the NHS or another complex multi-disciplinary public or private sector organisation. You will also have extensive experience in organisational development and change management.
To meet the challenges of this highly visible role we will need a visionary leader with a detailed understanding of radiotherapy services and have a real credibility within the profession gained through a proven track record of success in influencing and managing at a senior level .
