An exciting Chief Nurse has arisen within the South Sector, Glasgow Acute Service of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
NHS Glasgow Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest health Organisation in Scotland providing acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of 1.2 million in 6 local authority areas.
The Acute service provides a complex range of Hospital services across the population of Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The South Sector provides services within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital; Gartnavel General Hospital and associated sites.
We are seeking an experienced clinical leader to join our team based at Scotland's newest hospital the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
As a member of the South Sector Management Team the post holder will play an active role in contributing to the strategic direction of the South Sector, supporting the Director to manage the delivery of a range of high quality, economic, safe, efficient and patient-centred services in compliance with national and local targets.
The principle objective of the post is to lead, inspire, direct and promote systemic improvements in Clinical Care and Healthcare Quality to the nursing staff within the South Sector and foster a culture which values continuing professional development and strives for excellence in all aspects of the delivery of patient safety and care.
We have 3500 nurses working in our team across a diverse range of services and multiple sites including services provided for the entire Board area in ENT, Ophthalmology and GP Out of Hours. We have a number of models of advanced practice and are keen to develop this further.
Services are evolving in response to changing need and new service models and we are seeking someone who can lead the nursing profession through these changes and work closely with our clinical and non clinical colleagues to deliver strategic change and service transformation.
You should be educated to degree level or equivalent, with several years senior management experience within a large, complex organisation. Experience of managing and developing health services or similar would be preferable.
