NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking for an experienced and energetic General Manager to lead its specialist sexual health service (known as Sandyford), following the retirement of the current postholder. This is a multi-site, integrated service which attracts approximately 110, 000 visits annually, and provides specialist sexual and reproductive health care within a model that recognises and responds to the social, cultural and economic dimensions of health behaviours. As General Manager you will possess the professional credibility to work effectively with a range of stakeholders within and without NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
You will liaise and collaborate with senior clinical and non-clinical colleagues including medical consultants and Clinical Directors, Police Scotland, Scottish Government etc, and demonstrate capacity to develop business for Sandyford.
A key focus of the role is to lead strategic and operational management, and the management of all resources to achieve business performance objectives within quality standards and ensure that performance targets, financial targets and strategic objectives are met in line with Scottish Government and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) requirements.
Working collaboratively with colleagues in NHSGGC including acute, community and health improvement/public health as well as external partner a key priority will be to influence wider policy and strategy, including the Scottish Government and local authorities. This includes the design and delivery of appropriate tailored and targeted services, and negotiations and agreements with integrated health and care partnerships across the six local authority areas which come within NHSGGC.
Educated to Masters Degree level, it is essential that you have significant experience of working in a complex public sector organisation at a senior level, and that you will demonstrate the key leadership skills required for this post. The successful candidate will have operated at a high level within a senior management team and evidence specialist knowledge across a number of disciplines acquired through a combination of training and experience e.g. strategic management, finance, staff management and information systems. You will demonstrate personal and professional integrity, effective leadership and change management knowledge and skills, and evidence experience of developing and implementing successful redesign programmes to improve services and tackle inequalities.
