Applications are invited for temporary 11-month post of Band 5 radiographer at Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin. Located in the north east of Scotland, 40 miles from Inverness and 70 miles from Aberdeen, Elgin is the market town for the county of Moray and in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will integrate into a friendly team of professionals in this 150 bed district general hospital. The department provides a General Radiography service, including 24 hour A&E cover, Dental, Fluoro, CT, DEXA and Ultrasound. There is a Carestream RIS/PACS system throughout Grampian.
The department provides services to Orthopaedics, Medical, General Surgery, A&E, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and also Theatres. There are busy outpatient clinics with a number of visiting consultants from Aberdeen and Inverness, as well as the 24/7 A&E service which is covered by a first on-call rota of approximately 1: 14. The service also caters for GP practices in the area.
Dr Gray's Hospital is the hub for a group of 4 GP run hospitals spread throughout Moray. As part of their duties, the successful individual may be expected to cover these outlying single-handed departments once their competencies are achieved. The successful candidate will have had recent experience in general radiography within the NHS, however, applicants graduating in Diagnostic Radiography for this academic year, are invited to apply.
The successful candidate will be involved in Quality Assurance and Clinical Audit programmes, and will participate in out of hour rotas, which requires the successful candidate to live within a suitable distance from the hospital. The department is committed to professional development and CPD.
