Expressions of interest are invited to provide primary medical services under a General Medical Services Contract or Primary Medical Services Agreement in a new practice located in Newtongrange, Midlothian from a building owned by NHS Lothian.

The provider will need to grow the practice list up to circa 5,000 patients. This is an excellent opportunity to improve health outcomes and NHS Lothian would welcome applications from interested parties that will deliver high quality primary medical services responsive to the needs of these patients. As well as delivering essential services, the successful provider will be expected to offer a range of additional and enhanced services.

It is a requirement that all applicants meet the criteria of section 17L of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978, as amended.

Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland is determined to deliver stronger, longer lives to people in Scotland affected by chest and heart illness and by stroke, through medical research, information provision, advice and support in the community and through evidence-based policy and influence. This newly developed post of Lead Rehabilitation Support Coordinator, Grampian main purposes are to directly line-manage the small team of Rehabilitation Support Staff for Grampian and carry a small caseload for Hospital and Community based One to One and/or Group Rehabilitation Support in the Moray, Banff & Huntly area. The Lead Coordinator will also be involved in funding negotiations and monitoring along with the Regional Manager and/or Head of Rehabilitation Support. Rehabilitation Support currently provides support to people who have had a stroke which has resulted in a communication problem to undertake their own rehabilitation. The post holder will explore expansion of existing services to people affect by a stroke which has not resulted in a communication difficulty. Demonstration of a positive attitude towards people with disabilities, the ability to recruit, manage and motivate a team of volunteers, excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be required to fulfil this role. This post is home-based and subject to PVG membership. The use of own car and a current valid driving licence is essential (expenses paid at mileage rate).
